1. Oversees the Total Rewards Programs and Operations for the organization.

a) Establishes a clear vision and direction for Total Rewards programs and operations.

b) Provides primary leadership to develop and implement annual goals and action plans that support the organization's mission and strategic plan as they relate to total rewards. Ensures the achievement of goals and objectives, including fiscal performance.

c) Ensures fiscally sound, competitive programs by directing research, design and implementation of new or modified programs or services, as well as supporting policies and procedures.

d) Contributes to the effectiveness, improved understanding and a positive impact of total rewards programs and services by directing communications efforts through education, management briefings, counseling and materials for leadership, physicians and employees.

e) Serves as the organizational expert in the total rewards and ensures in-depth/specialized knowledge is maintained through management team and staff development and training.

f) Develops a systematic process for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the total reward programs.

g) Oversees vendor relationships, contracts and pricing and partnership with the appropriate manager/supervisor.

h) Recommends programmatic changes in response to changes in the regulatory environment or to remain competitive in the market.

2. Provide Direction and Oversight for Total Rewards Operations.

a) Partners with direct reports and provides direction and leadership in operations. Continually monitors operations and works with direct reports to initiate change as appropriate.

b) Fosters strong working relationships between specialty areas in Human Resources resulting in a high level of integration of services for our customers and the most effective, cost-efficient administration of programs and department operations.

c) Directs, reviews, and approves all policies and practices related to Total Rewards. Responsible for ensuring that all policies, plan documentation and practices are current with applicable federal and state laws or other regulations and guidelines.

d) Ensures ongoing training and competency in areas of Human Resources responsible for interpreting policies and practices.

e) Approves policy exceptions based on circumstances presented, ensuring compliance with regulations and consistency with past practice.

f) Maintains a strong, leadership relationship of influence with key stakeholders including Finance/Payroll, IT, Environment of Care, Medical Group, Community Health Improvement, Managed Care, Human Resources and networkHR peers.

g) Assists direct reports and staff in proposals, presentations and services. Provides direct consultative services to director, vice presidents or senior leadership as needed.

h) Coordinates budget preparation process throughout Total Rewards team and is responsible for timely reporting and accountability of budget variances. Represents department in presenting budget recommendations for Total Reward programs and managing budget edits throughout the budget preparation cycle.

3. Leads Total Reward Leadership Team and Fosters Professional Development.

a) Leads through example in creating a culture of customer focus within the Total Rewards team and within the broader Human Resources Department that is responsive to the needs of our customers.

b) Supports Development Action plans for direct reports, including input in creation of the plan, regular meetings to discuss progress, provide assistance with removing barriers to success and providing ongoing coaching and performance feedback throughout the year.

c) Meets regularly with direct reports and staff as appropriate to ensure availability, visibility, timely dissemination of information and knowledge of operational achievements and challenges.

d) Ensures that direct reports and staff members keep abreast of best practices and trends in appropriate areas of benefits, compensation, and injury prevention.

e) Attends professional seminars and workshops on related topics and ensures participation by management team and staff as appropriate to maintain necessary skill and expertise within the department.

f) Participates in local/regional or national professional peer groups.

g) Pursues opportunities to share time and talent with community organizations through board membership, volunteering or ad hoc consultation.

Requirements

  • :Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related business area.
  • Extensive knowledge and proven experience working in the employee benefits field, including strategic planning and program design, budgetforecasting, cost benefit analysis, administration, vendor management and communications.
  • 10-12 or more years of Employee Benefits and Compensation experience.
  • Progressive management experience in a complex healthcare environment leading a team of Human Resources professionals.
  • Five or more years of increasing responsibilities in the management of total reward programs
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) preferred
