We are looking for dynamic Financial Controller for our growing Salt Lake City team.

The Controller role at SoFi is responsible for managing our Accounting and AP teams. The right candidate will be an individual with strategic, managerial, and tactical talents who wants to join a high growth environment and help us scale. Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Manage department, subsidiary, and consolidation reporting
  • Coordinate with payroll and AP to ensure expenses and accruals are accurate
  • Direct supervision of equity accounting, including preferred stock and stock based compensation
  • Review prepared reconciliations and implement formal quarterly reconciliation package
  • Analyze month end income statement and provide comments
  • Act as main point of contact with internal and external auditors
  • Assist with SSAE 16, agreed upon procedures, 409a, asset valuation, and tax advisers, as necessary
  • Establish, monitor, and enforce policies and procedures. Oversee and enhance internal control environment
  • Identify technology opportunities for increased automation. Serve as project manager to internal and external technology teams
  • Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential internally and externally

Leadership

  • Manage and train accounting and AP teams
  • Develop individual and team goals that are achievable and measurable
  • Delegate tasks by scheduling, assigning, reviewing and ensuring completion of work
  • Emphasize importance of accuracy, timeliness, and organization

Qualifications

  • 8 plus years’ balanced experience in-house and accounting firm with at least 5 years active supervisory experience
  • CPArequired
  • Financial services industry experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of technical accounting and public company best practices
  • Deadline driven, organized, and enthusiastic about managing others
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, exposure to NetSuite a plus
