Controller/Chief Financial Officer Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, maintain & update corporate budget Manage cash flow & expenses
  • Manage & maintain Banking relationships and manage all company financing
  • Secure a line of credit for AFMI Conduct financial analysis, planning & reporting with quarterly meetings/reviews with Managing Partner
  • Monitor & maintain insurance requirements; D&O, Healthcare and other Ensure compliance/regulatory requirements are continually maintained
  • Manage all tax planning and reporting for all entities
  • Oversee reporting and tax work for corporate aircraft subsidiary with outsourced specialist Fund-related
  • Prepare quarterly unaudited financial statements for each Fund
  • Maintain & update quarterly performance records for all funds
  • Maintain & updateportfolio company financial records (company transactions, follow-on investments, etc.)
  • Maintain & updateportfolio company capital structures
  • Monitor portfolio company activity and developments
  • Complete portfolio company valuations and interface with Fund Auditors; manage audit process (to be charged to funds), in compliance with LP Agreements
  • Prepare tax-related information and interface with tax advisors; manage K-1 process
  • Compliance/regulatory Review and interpret Limited Partnership Agreements, Operating Agreements and deal docs for Portfolio C Corps Analyze & review deal structuring
  • Maintain updated LP financial records
  • Complete waterfall calculations for Limited Partnership structures
  • Complete quarterly financial data requests from industry vendors (Pitchbook, Preqin etc.)
  • Respond to specific LP financial-oriented inquiries when necessary
  • Manage/oversee relationship with outsourced fund reporting service
  • Produce performance and otherschedules as requested by team or prospective LPs for future funds Organizational Manage a junior level bookkeeper
  • Work closely with Operations Manager on AP and related items
  • Manage AR & collections Review & approve monthly payroll
  • Review & approve employee expense reimbursement
  • Review & approving ACH's/wires
  • Monitor & manage portfolio company travel expense reimbursements for partners
  • Enforce company expense reimbursement policies
  • Interface with portfolio company CFO's/Controllers
  • Monitor/manage different accounts in bank portal
  • Manage users in bank portal/interfacing with banking provider
  • Manage certain personal financial holdings of Athenian's founder (e.g. boat)
  • Bachelor’s degree and CPArequired
