The Business Analyst serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow. They are the critical liaison between our clients and development teams, and are responsible for driving the identification, specification, and successful delivery of solutions that leverage Wunderman’s capabilities to support and grow our Clients’ business.


  • Lead solution analysis, definition, and acceptance in application development lifecycle (including technology possibilities and limitations)
  • Gather, interpret, and translate customer needs into functional and nonfunctional requirements – translate business problems into requirements that facilitate application development through client interviews, internal interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis.
  • Understand system behavior, inputs, and outputs as they relate to business functions
  • Facilitates meetings of stakeholders to elicit requirements and detail business constraints; constructs strawman flows from client input; incorporates feedback from review sessions into amended deliverables.
  • Identify current and future state business processes
  • The Business Analyst will document and analyze requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the project artifacts
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives and projects simultaneously
  • Collaborate with architects to translate the detailed requirements into design deliverables. Review design deliverables with architects upon completion
  • Work with clients to determine appropriate Test Case Scenarios for User Acceptance Testing based upon the agreed upon requirements.
  • Review Change Control requests to ensure alignment with the agreed upon requirements.


  • Strong understanding of marketing concepts, including multi-channel and digital marketing

  • Ability to manage multiple activities in a deadline-oriented environment; highly organized and flexible
  • Strong research skills with an attention to detail
  • Strong listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills – Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Ability to explore, analyze and utilize various software platforms from an end user perspective
  • Experience in analysis, basic statistical analysis
  • Ability to work independently and jointly in unstructured environments in a self-directed way
  • Ability to take a leadership role on projects and with customers
  • Bachelor’s level degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field and 3-5 years relevant analyst experience
  • Experienced in research and analysis of data, market needs, and customer issues
  • Experienced developing functional and non-functional requirements
  • Experienced working closely with team members during development and product launch
  • Must be able to remain at a computer terminal for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to commute to a local office in Dallas or Houston
  • Must be able to travel to client locations (approximately 20% travel)
  • 6 + years’ experience as a Business Analyst for MarketingTechnology or Information Technology projects.
  • 5 + years’ experience working with MarketingTechnology solutions
  • 3 + years’ experience creating user stories and customer acceptance criteria to allow rapid developer understanding, effort sizing, and implementation
  • 3 + years’ consulting experience
  • Bachelor’s level degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
  • Advanced knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Bachelor’s degree, prefer a mix of technical and business knowledge.
  • Familiarity with business concepts, quality assurance concepts and procedures, development process, prototyping procedures, software life cycle activities, techniques for requirements gathering.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Experience with analyzing data and databases and ability to write a SQL for research purposes
  • Database concepts including tables, data types, instances, fields, connection strings, keys, and records.
