In addition to the Business, Medical, and Technical market, McGraw-Hill Professional is a publishing and content leader in Education and Test Prep and in Consumer categories such as health and self-help.   McGraw-Hill Professional has an exciting opportunity for a National Accounts Manager, based in our New York City, NY office.   The National Accounts Manager is responsible for the sale of books and overall account management for national accounts.  

Essential Accountabilities:

  • Call on national accounts weekly/monthly regarding new and existing product in an effort to maximize sales.
  • Regular follow-up with sales management which should include, reporting on sales goals, efficiencies and overall performance.
  • Set annual and monthly budgets for accounts.
  • Work with marketing to create coop and bookstore promotions that drive sell-through.
  • Analyze sell-through to maximize sales and lower return rates.
  • Weekly and Monthly reporting on sales activities, performance and forecasts.
  • Presentation at vendor sales meetings.
  • Quarterly/Seasonal/Annual account business reviews.
  • Backlist sales tracking and promotion creation.
  • Special Projects (backlist analysis, market share and marketplace research, account trends, etc.)
  • Maximizing online sales and promotion opportunities
Qualifications
  • 5+ years sales or related publishing experience required.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, presentation and written communication skills are needed to correspond with established accounts.
  • Creative ability to tailor recommendations based on client need and customize product to fit client need.
  • Ability to quickly gain thorough knowledge of the Professional title list.
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Office Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, Bookscan, etc.
