Job Title Regional Sales Manager
Duties and Responsibilities
Ariens Corporation needs a dedicated Regional Sales Manager to direct sales activities for professional lawn and snow equipment and supplies through strategic development of the dealers and distributors. This role is directly responsible for the successful execution of plan and for meeting established performance measures.
This is a management role, not a sales position so it is a great opportunity to apply proven skills. We are not looking for the sales professional with the "Sales Person of the Year Award". We are looking for a STRATEGIC SALES LEADER who can add value and drive results.
The Sales Manager will spend at least 80% of their time developing their sales team and managing their performance and will travel throughout their territory to support development of their team. We are looking for someone located in our area, enabling them to be on-site in our Brillion headquarters when not traveling.
We are looking for people who have a proven track record of success in these areas:
• Develops strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals
• Drives results by managing team performance to achieve goals and exceed targets
• Directs channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals;
• Plans sales and service programs to promote new markets, improves competitive position in area; delivers presentations to key clients; Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
• Generates market analysis to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates; monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
• Assigns and monitors sales territories; Prepares report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion; Advises field and inside sales personnel on issues impacting sales or concerning possible techniques to improve closing rates.
• Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements; recommends or approves budget, expenditures, and appropriations for research and development work.
Education and Experience
• Bachelors degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; masters desired
• 8 or more years of direct experience in managing district level sales reps Note: this is not the same as 8 yrs of sales experience
• Sales expertise is in parts or equipment is preferred
• Candidates must have worked within a dealer/distributor channel
• Experience dealing with government agencies or sales a plus
• Candidates with a business or financial background or a full comprehension of business finances is important to help our dealers develop their full potential
• Ariens uses Lean principles to improve results throughout the organization. Exposure to "Lean" is a plus.
• This focus will be on developing their sales team, so the candidate must be able to travel 50% of the time
• Must understand how to productively use technology to connect with their team.
