Role:
We are looking for a smart, passionate and driven Sales professional to help take it to the next level and significantly expand distribution beyond current channels and accounts. The Director of Sales and National Accounts will be responsible for building and executing the Sales and Trade Marketing plans for all of our owned Brands and developing its Sales and Trade Marketing capabilities from the ground up. This is a broad based Sales Management role encompassing everything from developing the overall Sales strategy to managing major accounts to managing brokers and third party resources to building a sales support structure and systems and hiring and developing talent.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Developing effective sales strategies and plans including segmenting the market, developing channel specific strategies, and building go-to market plans.
- Leading and managing key account relationships to deliver revenue and profit goals
- Developing and executing initiatives to significantly build direct and 3rd party distribution
- Work closely with Marketing, Finance and other functions to build effective, profitable sales plans at the aggregate and account level
- Develop sales and distribution strategies and plans which build long term value and equity for our brands and for our retail partners
- Manage a sales budget including both top line and bottom line goals
- Deliver and leverage competitor and market intelligence as well as customer feedback to develop opportunities to ensure the organization is in tune with the marketplace
- Support long term planning for new product launches including bringing customer requirements and feedback to the new product development process
- Partnering effectively with other functions – Sales, Merchandising, Manufacturing, etc.
Key Qualifications:
- MUST HAVE 7-10 years experience in consumer branded sales roles including experience in the field as well as in headquarter or staff sales management.
- MUST HAVE 3-5 years experience selling in the BEAUTY INDUSTRY – particularly hair
- MUST HAVE 3+ years of experience in trade marketing and building account specific merchandising and trade marketing plans
- Proven ability to effectively manage Sales and Trade Marketing budgets including allocation of brand/category development funds, Co-op budgets, ROI/PEI analysis etc.
- Proven track record building account level plans and relationships which grew product sales and margin
- Demonstrated success in opening new channels of distribution, new accounts etc
- Experience developing successful new product launch plans at retail
- Experience working closely with and partnering with cross functional teams - especially Marketing, Logistics, and Finance
- Experience successfully managing and developing direct reports
