We are currently seeking a talented candidate with recent software leadership skills from a medium to large middleware type software company to mentor, motivate and lead their team to the attainment of sales goals for this exciting opportunity:
Position title: Regional Vice President of Sales
Location: Anywhere in Texas(Dallas or Houston area
preferred)
Position description:
In this role the qualified candidate will be responsible for leading and motivating a sales team across a regional geography to attain their sales goals. This includes helping to develop and execute strategies to grow revenues in existing accounts and select target markets. The team will penetrate new accounts utilizing a consultative sales approach with a charter to close new opportunities. The candidate will need to become familiar with a wide range of technology and business oriented value propositions, and be able to use a consultative sales approach to align the company’s value propositions with the customer and coordinate the necessary company resources to close new business and ensure the success of each installation. The qualified candidate must have a track record of successful sales leadership and quota achievement with a medium to large size software company.
Job duties:
· Developing and executing sales strategies to grow revenues within existing accounts and expand the account base in target markets
· Effectively and accurately managing forecasting and pipeline reporting related to revenue, client acquisition, etc.
· Coaching and mentoring regional sales managers with a hands-on, team-oriented approach
· Working with marketing, product management, sales engineers, and professional services teams to maximize opportunities and foster cohesive sales strategies
· Developing executive level relationships with clients and partners to advance individual opportunities and client relationships
· Pursuing and closing opportunities with enterprise and government customers
· Building teams and motivating staff to exceed goals
Required skills:
· 10 plus years experience successfully managing a team selling within enterprise software industry.
. Strong background with middleware type software
· Strong and successful sales track record in the software industry with proven experience developing C-Level relationships and one that is a hands-on “player manager”.
· Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding sales quota.
. Stable employment history
· Action and results-oriented approach with a "take charge" attitude with teamwork and collaboration. An ability to work with prospects to develop strong business solution cases coupled with solid closing skills.
· Experience in teaming with systems integrators required. The successful candidate’s background will include having established and executed call plans, orchestrated account-planning sessions and effectively executed account strategies.
· Excellent verbal, presentation, interpersonal and written communication skills.
· Demonstrated leadership ability and ability to think and act strategically.
· Proven ability to lead a cross functional team.
· Demonstrated understanding of market disciplines, competitive landscape and current technologies.
· Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree.
