Located near Chicago, this rapidly growing consumer products company is approaching a billion in revenue and is highly profitable. The company operates in an entrepreneurial fashion and is poised for significant growth. There is a tremendous opportunity to make an impact at the company. As a result, the company seeks leaders who want to create versus facilitate a process.
THE POSITION
Reporting to the VP of sales, the Director of National Accounts, Walmart will plan, develop, and implement Walmart and Sam’s initiatives by working with other functional areas of the company and the customers to achieve company objectives and priorities that are aligned with customer’s objectives. He/she will establish goals and objectives for three team members. Specific requirements include:
- Grow the Walmart business by 10% - 30% per year.
- Establish a collaborative relationship and manage Walmart’s business against our strategic objectives.
- Develop and maintain an effective customer team for current and anticipated needs.
- Interview candidates for all team positions and obtain staff capable of accomplishing objectives.
- Develop a successful vision and strategy, through strong leadership skills.
- Direct the development and implementation of standards and goals, ensuring they support the organization’s business plans.
- Participate in department and interdepartmental planning and management teams, and work cross-functionally to improve processes within the organization.
- Develop, maintain and assure adherences to operating budget and trade spending plan.
- Develop and present customer programs to management.
THE INDIVIDUAL
This individual must reside in Illinois or in Bentonville, AK.
Candidates must have previous success building a business with Walmart and should have previous management experience, as this person will lead an internal Walmart team of three people:
- Walmart experience is required.
- Food experience is ideal but not required.
- The ability to demonstrate the following skill sets:
- Effectively penetrate multiple levels of management in Walmart.
- Ability to apply a high level of analytical rigor.
- History of effective business planning.
- Proactive identification of critical business threats and opportunities.
- Effective and innovative problem solver.
- Able to create and deliver first class fact based presentations.
- Able to manage process effectively.
- Commanding executive level composure and presence, internally and with Walmart.
- Team motivation.
- College degree.
