JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY:
The VP, Sales and Marketing (S&M) has management responsibility for the Division Sales and Marketing team for this $50M global Division, including driving global growth, pursuing new business, developing market and segment opportunities while sustaining a strong existing customer base. This position requires significant initiative and the ability to deliver results in the global aerospace industry. The successful candidate will be able to develop, implement, and achieve ambitious stretch goals for both the Division and the S&M function, and have a proven track record of developing talent in their direct and indirect reports. This position reports directly to the General Manager of the Division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Divisional Strategic Planning leadership, includes the development and execution of the Division’s strategic initiatives, in addition to constructing and delivering against annual strategic accounts plans. Also responsible for developing sales budgets, carrying out monthly reviews and producing associated variance reports.
- Drives sales growth by developing & executing sales funnel opportunities, with an equal focus on new and existing customers (with appropriate qualification of new business). Achievement of budget goals and planned targets.
- Sales Process implementation and management responsibility - Policy deployment, implementation and tracking of policy deployment initiatives and key performance indicators, market analysis, Creates and maintains the commercialization process within the Division. Developing processes to enable “ease of doing business” for our internal and external customers
- Provide active and supportive executive leadership at a Divisional level – working as an effective team member with peers and leader to support the intent of the Division.
- New business development activity: market research, competitive analysis, product specification involvement and involvement in tollgate process.
- Preparation and presentation of sales proposals – with a requirement to be involved in the negotiation of key and critical contracts. Also required to provide program management guidance and input as requested by the GM.
- Work in close alignment with the division sales teams – on Major Account, International and Aftermarket opportunities.
- Marketing leadership and support to the Division, includes but is not limited to: development of communications including advertising, catalogs, brochures etc.
- Pricing - ensuring price realization targets are met list, set cost targets, and work as part of team to develop cost models.
- Employee management and development – responsible for the hiring, day to day management and development of succession opportunity within the Divisional Sales function.
- Along with those identified below, other duties may be assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree
- A minimum of 12 years Experience within Sales & Marketing
- MBA is preferred.
- Prior commercial or defense aerospace industry experience is required
- Working knowledge of program management and contract negotiation is preferred
- Knowledge of e-commerce usage is preferred
- Global experience is a plus.
