Vice President of Business Development (Towson, MD)
Job Responsibilities
The Vice President of Business Development will be responsible for leading the Business Development efforts for the Healthcare IT segment of GDIT’s Civilian and Homeland Security Solutions division. This position will be responsible for business development activities that lead to revenue generation in accordance with organizational target goals. Oversight responsibilities include Strategic Planning, Account Planning and Management, Pipeline Development, Gate Reviews and internal /external coordination. This BD team leader will supervise all BD personnel, direct quality of account coverage and ensure compliance with BD metrics and GD business development process to maximize win and achievement of revenue goals. This team leader will ensure efficient and results-oriented support to the line from early opportunity identification ID through revenue generation. In concert with supervisory duties, the candidate may be required to provide business development support to specific accounts/opportunities as needed. The candidate will be responsible for supporting our competitive position, conveying our capabilities to key customers and being the expert on industry trends.
Experience
Requires 15 or more years of related experience in Business Development and sales in the government contracting industry selling Healthcare IT Solutions with a heavy emphasis in one or more of the following areas: Health and Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), and National Institutes of Health (NIH). The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of increasing sales and profitability in large organizations. As well as closing large, complex opportunities; range of experience should include winning contract vehicles and follow through on tasks of various sizes. Strategic planning experience preferred. Candidate must have a solid understanding of the business acquisition process and applications in the Civilian Government and local markets. Candidate must have intimate knowledge of the Civilian Government marketplace and be able to identify, qualify and close both strategic $100M and above and tactical opportunities through their relationships with the customer and the integrator community. Candidate should have extensive department level and account management experience within Information Technology Services and Information Engineering Services.
Education/Equivalent
Required Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Business Management, or a technical discipline. Masters Degree preferred.
