We are currently seeking a Director, Partner Development. This position will be instrumental in the development of business strategies around key sales and distributions channels for S&Ps Equity Research Services. The candidate that fills this position will develop and manage deep, senior level relationships with intermediaries to maximize strategic alignment and revenue growth. Partner Development is charged with developing distribution strategies via clearing firms and custodial firms. Today those relationships are managed by field sales. Field sales will be transitioning existing relationships to Partner Development. Incumbent will create strategies to save and grow revenue for these and other partner channels with consideration for product offering, pricing, opportunity sizing, potential channel conflicts, and partner selection criteria. The candidate will articulate comprehensive channel strategies in addition to negotiating partner agreements, managing implementation and ongoing relationships with channel partners.
Essential Accountabilities:
Client Relationship: Develop new senior level contacts that move beyond data sales. Understand client/partners business, products, customers, and strategic direction. Become the subject matter expert on a given client/partner. In turn, effectively communicate ERS strategy and product offerings. Track usage and revenue on a regular basis. Communicate metrics to internal stakeholders periodically.
Channel Strategy: Work with internal teams (internal development, project management, finance, marketing, legal/compliance, etc) and partners to develop business models for partner segments that include product definition/ differentiation, pricing, and delivery. A key aspect to this will be analyzing the direct sales model to ensure alignment. Develop annual volume/usage, revenue and NOI forecasts and update metrics monthly.
Pipeline Management: Keep track of opportunities, working with management to assess priorities. Develop criteria screen for evaluation potential partners.
Contract Support: Work with internal legal and licensing as well as client/partners to manage development and approval of contracts. Migrate old agreements to conform to current standards and verify that agreements are in place to cover all transactions.
Analytics: Analyze respective customers / markets, assess the competitive landscape. Work with internal teams to assess how ERS data is distributed by other areas S&P and how revenue is assigned. - Some knowledge of investment or wealth management business.
- Bachelors required, MBA / Masters in finance or marketing preferred.
