Director- Retail Operations (MetLife Bank Reverse Mortgage) – Newburgh ,NY     

Overview:

This position oversees MetLife’s Reverse Mortgage Processing originated through our retail sales channel. This channel is producing a large number of loans each month and that number will continue to grow. The operation must close these loans within corporately determined timeframes and meet all investor and insuring guidelines. Failure to do so exposes MetLife to financial losses in the millions of dollars. To meet these corporate objectives, this manager oversees a staff of over 30 full time employees thru three Supervisors.

Specific Duties:

This senior operations manager is responsible for:

1. The processing and closing of a large volume of reverse mortgage loans per month within the corporately established time frames.

2. The direct management of three supervisors, who in turn manage the assigned staff of over 30 individuals.

3. The completion of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.

4. The enforcement of MetLife’s credit policy.

5. Together with the Vice President – Reverse Mortgage Operations, will set monthly goals for the employees and administer an employee recognition plan.

6. The fulfillment of all regulatory and investor requirements.

7. Meeting all processing quality standards which guarantees that all loans produced will be insured or guaranteed through the appropriate government agency.

8. Insuring all originated loans fully meet investor guidelines.

9. Taking the lead in all dealings with the retail sales force of mortgage consultants and forming a strong working relationship with regional sales managers and the Vice President of retail reverse mortgage originations.

10. With the Training Manager and the Vice President – Reverse Mortgage Operations will oversee the development and delivery of all new employee training and skill upgrade training.

11. With the supervisors, will implement all operating changes.

12. The oversight of vendors used in the fulfillment process including appraisal and title.

13. As a senior process manager, analysis of appropriate managerial reports and the resolution of operating shortfalls.

14. Together with the three supervisors, will handle all new employee interviews and the hiring of new and replacement staff.

15. The appraisal process for the staff and is the principal appraiser for the three supervisors.

16. With the input of Human Resources, decides and administers appropriate disciplinary actions.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain the processes and metrics used to allocate home office expenses to the Asia-Pac region.

• Prepare quarterly transfer pricing invoices for Asia-Pacific region and manage settlement.

• Review chargebacks submitted by the countries in the Asia-Pac region to home office.

• Maintain cash and short-term balances in MetLife International Holdings, Inc. adequate to settle affiliated charges.

• Manage capital movements to and from the country operations as approved by the International CFO.

• Maintain auditable supporting documentation for expense allocations to/from the Asia-Pac region, and used for SOX compliance and tax audits.

• Lead or participate in special projects for the MetLife International Controller

• Responsible for the development, review and overall management of the entire MetLife International transfer pricing team (2 finance professionals).

• Preparation of ITOC report for International.

Candidates for this position should have the following:

• ? 5 to 10 years of management experience within financial services industry.


• ? 5+ years in overseeing a processing operation.


• ? Proven success in a high growth environment where operations were improved to both in through put and quality.


• ? Past management of a large staff.


• ? A past pattern of promotions within the same organization.


• ? Demonstrated and quantified achievements in past positions.


• ? College graduate degree and some post graduate experience would be preferred.
