A non-US based, international manufacturer of Class I medical devices is seeking a USA National Sales Manager who will be responsible for successful sales, education and marketing of products in the USA. The USA National Sales Manager will be accountable for the achievement of sales/revenue and profit objectives, will have experience in with managing distributors and manufacturers reps and MUST have experience with PCP.
The candidate must be located on the East Coast, no further south then NC. Chicago area candidates will be considered.
Under the direction of the CEO, perform USA Sales Management activities as follows:
- Execute Sales & Marketing agreements with suitable distributors. Build relationships with target market(s) including Primary Care Physicians, Gastroenterologists, Hepatologists, and Laboratories.
- Accountable to achieve market adoption of product through the use of available sales/marketing and clinical tools.
- Responsible for educating Distributors, reps & target market (s) on product clinical efficacy.
- Management of the prescribed territories to achieve sales and profit objectives.
- Execute tactical field programs that will result in market adoption of products.
- Attend local/national trade-shows and exhibits to support market adoption.
- Execute planned sales, clinical and education plans designed to support market adoption.
- Build relationships with local thought/opinion leaders to support marketing of products.
- Complete daily/weekly and monthly activity and sales reports as prescribed by management.
- Deliver weekly, monthly and annual reports to senior management.
- Complete weekly/monthly expense reports and comply with associated guidelines.
- Compliant to prevailing ISO and FDA standards.
- Interact with company’s HQ outside the US.
Interface with management and other staff members to provide guidance and expertise for effective distribution of products; all field concepts/ideas need approval of management/regulatory affairs prior to execution.
Candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6-10 years sales experience with Medical Devices and/or Pharma products to Physicians’ offices and Hospitals, e.g. Primary Care Physician offices; promote product sales by utilizing peer review journals and supporting clinical studies. Minimum three years of sales force management. Must have experience in managing Distribution Channels. In addition, experience in selling and training to target markets distributors & reps is a MUST. Experience with out of US corporate HQ an advantage.
Will have excellent communication/interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
Proven record of building a similar sales operation to achieve yearly sales, from 0 (zero) to more than 50M$ in the past. Excellent writing and organizational skills; must be detailed oriented; have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; a team player; additional languages skills a plus.
Position will be an office environment. Must be able to travel by air and road quite frequently to the target markets. Position will hire, develop, grow and supervise operations and support personnel, sales force and reimbursement staff. USA National Sales Manager will deal with cross-functional departments and National Distributors organizations & their sales people, Manufacturer Representatives, Physicians (target market), professional societies, and others.
