Job Title     Director of Sales (with opportunity for VP level growth)

Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership Areas of Responsibility:  The initial emphasis of this position will be outdoor power equipment sales in the following sales channels; International sales, global sports turf sales, U.S. government sales, and two-step distribution sales in North America.  While the emphasis of this position is on whole goods sales, this leader must work closely with our OEM and aftermarket parts divisions as well.  In the future it is likely that other sales channels will be added to this leader’s area of responsibility.
 Strategy – This leader will be responsible for developing strategies for each sales channel.  This will be a collaborative effort to build a sales strategy, marketing strategy, product strategy, and customer service strategy need to realize success in these sales channels.  This leader will develop an annual strategic plan and deploy it throughout his or her organization.  This leader will develop a management process that regularly measures the success of the strategic plan, placing more emphasis on the action plans than the end of month measures.  This leader will also be expected to work with key leaders at Ariens to build a 5 year business plan for each sales channel.

Key Goals - The key measurable goals for this position are to continuously improve sales and profit in each of the sales channels.  This includes collaborating with others in the company such as Marking, Product Development, Finance, and Operations to help create a product offering and program that achieves these goals.  In addition to the measurable goals this leader is expected to continuously improve market share, customer satisfaction, team building, and contribute to an action oriented continuous improvement culture.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Sales Skills & Experiences – We are seeking a candidate with demonstrated experience and success in sales management.  This candidate should also have experience in an actual selling role as well as experience in managing a sales team.  This candidate must be able to demonstrate past success in these roles and should be capable of becoming a Vice President of Sales within 1 to 3 years.
Experience/Education: Requires a Bachelors degree, MBA preferred and a minimum of 10 years sales experience.  Five or more years of prior sales management experience is required.
Travel: This position will require a minimum of 50% outside travel, some of this travel will be outside the United States.  The role requires physical location in Ariens Company’s headquarters offices in Brillion, WI.
