Energy Systems Engineer - Power Utilities

Location: Anywhere in US, with a strong preference for Philadelphia area.  Relocation assistance is available.

Our client is a publicly traded company that produces and markets systems for the power conversion and storage of electrical power, including industrial batteries and electronics.

This specialized focus has established the company as a leading and valued supplier of products in reserve power systems and electronic power supplies. C&D’s success in these key markets has been supported by dedication to customer service. The company’s core business focuses on reserve power systems supplied to leading operators of telecommunications, data transmission, infrastructure computer systems and utilities to enable them to maintain critical operations during power outages.

Due to the growth of the business, they are seeking a Sales Applications Engineer to help them expand their power utilities business nationally.

This is a very highly technical position focused in the Electric Utility and Alternative Energy sector.  The role will be for this person to pair up with our client’s Director of Sales for Energy and Infrastructure market and provide technical field level application engineering to sell highly integrated large dollar, highly engineered large scale energy storage systems to electric utilities such as Florida Power & Light, PG&E, Con Edison, etc, etc.  These will be $1M to $20Million sales per each system!

The successful candidate for this role will have the following qualifications:

• Highly technical.  Someone with an Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering background with a P.E. credentials.




• Highly knowledgeable about the Electric utility’s Power Generation industry.  This is also a must.  Someone who has worked with utilities or for the utilities in designing and selling large scale multi megawatt electricity generating plants or systems.




• The person MUST come from the industry.  Must know large scale Solar and/or Wind energy generation systems i.e. a solar far or a wind farm in the multi-megawatt scale.




• If the person also has a sales experience that would be a plus but certainly technical and engineering skills far more important.




• Must have extensive utility industry experience

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
