JOB DESCRIPTION
The Opportunity Manager or Strategic Engagement Manager (SEM) is a senior sales executive who possesses excellent organizational, communication, and selling skills. The successful candidate will have 7+ years of solution selling experience. The SEM is responsible for managing, leading and closing the top Mid Market Microsoft opportunities, working with partners and Large Account Resellers. These opportunities will be defined as the largest and most complicated deals for the given area, including complex competitive sales engagements. In addition, the OM will proactively engage with partners in the largest mid market accounts to identify new opportunities.

A successful Microsoft Strategic Engagement Manager (SEM) or Opportunity Manager (OM) will assist the sales team by focusing on complex partner mentoring. These goals will be supported by the OM’s involvement in specific and strategic sales opportunities, AND in developing and delivering insight into the top accounts in their assigned sub-territory. The candidate’s success in delivering total solutions to prospects, customers and partners will be dependent upon teaming with Microsoft Partner Account Managers within field sales, local partners, as well as other Microsoft sales and technical sales resources.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to achieving overall revenue target and product positioning for all Microsoft solutions. The successful candidate must also engage with partners in the development, solution or proof stages of a given sales cycle. Candidates with the ability to succeed in this role will display the following attributes: Excellent organizational, communication, negotiation, and problem solving skills; strong understanding of Microsoft’s licensing & strategic direction; ability to deliver effective presentations for the Microsoft product family; ability to engage with a wide range of audiences from end user to senior management.

Qualifications:
A BS/BA degree is required
7+ years solution selling experience.
Experience selling infrastructure and server solutions into the SMB market segments a plus.
ERP sales experience a plus.
Ability and willingness to work within a leveraged, partner selling model
