Sales Representative - Automated Irrigation Control Gates – Tri Cities, WA
Our Client is a world leading international manufacturer of irrigation gates and specialist open canal control technology. Working closely with their clients across the water and irrigation industry sectors, they make cutting edge technology work better for business.
Due to an increase in demand for their products and services, they are currently seeking two experienced, highly motivated, salespeople to join their team in the Central Valley (Fresno), CA and Tri-Cities, WA areas. The position involves the sales of automated irrigation canal control systems to customers throughout Northern and Central California. and Central Washington Regions. Their customers are largely irrigation districts that supply water to irrigation farms.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
* Managing and developing customer relationships
* Identifying new sales opportunities with customers
* Achieve and exceed monthly and annual quota
* Prepare proposals and service agreements
* Deliver effective and informative presentations and demonstrations
* Produce regular sales status and pipeline reports
* Maintain a phone and face-to-face campaign targeting top prospects
* Provide inputs to product marketing on customer needs and issues
To be considered you will need the following skills and qualifications:
Required
* Demonstrated strong sales capability, especially in a B2B environment
* The candidate must have engineering degree (B.S.) from an accredited college
* Ability to build strong rapport, establish trust and credibility through a consultative approach, and balance assertive sales follow-up without being overly aggressive
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills along with interpersonal skills
* Time Management skills - able to manage multiple priorities effectively
* Self Starter - Able to work in an independent, ambiguous environment
* Strong organizational skills
* Knowledge of digital radio systems
* Experience with PLC, SCADA and RTU systems
Beneficial, but optional
* Sales experience to public sector organizations
* Some experience with irrigation control gates
* Experience and knowledge of the irrigation industry, both from a farming and water supply perspective
* A basic knowledge of control theory
* 1-2 years experience in the design of automated or process control systems
* Some understanding of open canal hydraulics
* Some experience with Motorola MOSCAD technology
Successful candidate will be offered on the job training on our client’s products and technologies as well as assistance with travel and accommodation in addition to an attractive remuneration package. The base salary is $80k - $90k with on target earnings in excess of $100K plus a typical large company benefits package. The position will require interstate travel approximately one week on four.
