Responsible for directing sales for all North American account managers and creation of marketing strategies and execution for the Americas.
Specific job activities include:
- Ensure key account sales plans are developed / updated and implemented.
- Direct key account assignments; support the relationship development efforts on all accounts.
- Manage and organize account details locally and within the context of the global markets.
- Lead the competitive intelligence gathering process; keep the market plan current with the division General Manager.
- Create the top-line budget and 5-year plan balances between supply and demand; optimize margins based on market opportunities and product availability.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Business or Technical discipline (engineering, chemistry, etc.), MBA desirable.
- 12 to 15 years Field Sales and Sales Management combined experience; minimum of 7 years in Chemical Industry commodities; Marketing and Business Management experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of SAP, materials resource planning software systems preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work both as a team player and a leader/coach. Ability to develop and lead cross functional working groups.
- Ability to successfully work in a global business environment and as a member of a global team. Executive level leadership skills and competencies.
- Require a minimum commitment of 3-5 years in position. Demonstrated track record of career growth through positions of increasing responsibility with potential for Executive-level position.
- Strong interpersonal/communication skills.
- Ability to travel 30-50%.
- Ability to delegate and coach in a hands-off environment.
- Value-selling abilities.
- Strong customer relationships with a proven track record.
- Negotiation skills a must.
