DescriptionReporting to the Senior Vice President Global Strategy, this position is responsible for driving international growth by developing the companys international strategy, prioritizing international initiatives and markets, developing and leading cross-segment initiatives and new market entries, supporting segment international initiatives, creating and strengthening The McGraw-Hill Companies international relationships and building the international development organization and infrastructure.   Primary responsibilities include the development of a corporate global business development strategy, drive cross segment global initiatives and entry into new markets, strengthen international relationships and build an international development organization and network.   International Business Development Strategy: ·        Develop the companys international strategy including key regions and markets ·        Prioritize global initiatives and markets at the corporate level ·        Integrate the marketing and branding strategies into the global ·        Work with segments to establish segment-specific global priorities and objectives ·        Ensure the corporation and segments have a shared view on international markets by providing market and competitive analysis for prioritized initiatives and markets ·        Ensure international initiatives and targets are clearly delineated in segment /corporate plans ·        Ensure that market risks and mitigating actions are clearly defined in global strategies   Drive international initiatives: ·        Develop and lead cross-segment global initiatives and entry into new emerging markets ·        Lead international M&A process by developing relationships and identifying, negotiating and executing acquisitions and alliances in prioritized markets ·        Assist segments in developing and implementing their international initiatives ·        Help scope out feasibility and requirements for new initiatives (infrastructure, people talent, etc) ·        Track and report on progress of global development pipeline against stated initiatives and objectives (e.g. organic and external growth targets)   Strengthen international relationships: ·        Establish and maintain high level contacts with key government and business leaders in prioritized markets and ·        Help broaden MHP executives own relationship network ·        Willingness to travel internationally at least 50% of the time   Build international development organization and network: ·        Integrate and build a global development organization and network to support international growth goals ·        Identify opportunities to leverage global infrastructure   Qualifications  Bachelors degree (MBA strongly preferred) ·        Minimum of ten years of international business development and M&A experience with a background in leading transactions (preferably in an industry aligned with one of MHs business segments) ·        Proven track record of developing successful deals, partnership and opportunities in a global environment ·        Strong interpersonal, relationship management and negotiating skills ·        Excellent verbal communication skills - equally effective in formal and informal settings with senior managers; able to gain credibility with  potential business partners ·        Strong written communication skills to develop effective business plans, proposals and reports ·        Possess excellent analytical skills and financial acumen; able to structure and direct sophisticated business analysis and modeling ·        Ability to adapt and effectively operate in a variety of cultural settings (Foreign language proficiency strongly preferred - ideally Spanish or a major Asian language)
