This position, Vice President Sales, is with a mid-sized freight brokerage firm. The roll is one of leading a relatively new team in developing additional revenue. This is primarily an inside sales force. The right individual for this position must have substantial leadership abilities, be willing to roll up the sleeves and be out on the floor teaching and supporting the sales staff. A thorough knowledge of the freight transportation brokerage business is essential for success in this position.
That knowledge should include experience leading a sales team, knowledge of day-to-operations, and the ability to lead in a team focused environment. The person to be selected must also have the ability to sell to potential top level accounts and most importantly, the ability to teach a team how to sell.
